Meet Phyllis Michaux

I grew up with humble beginnings, but through the love, guidance, and support of my mother and grandmother, I learned the values that continue to shape my life today: love, leadership, and loyalty.

My Story

From an early age, I was taught that hard work, integrity, and service to others matter. Those lessons instilled in me a deep appreciation for family, community, and the importance of standing up for what is right.

I have also learned that small ideas can represent big dreams. Every positive change begins with a simple vision and the courage to pursue it. I believe that when people work together with determination and purpose, they can accomplish extraordinary things for their families, neighborhoods, and communities.

These values have guided me throughout my life and inspire my commitment to serving others and helping build a stronger future for all.

Something most people don't know about me is that I learned many of my most valuable leadership lessons long before holding any formal title. Some of those lessons came from listening more than I spoke, learning from setbacks, and serving others behind the scenes when no one was watching.

Those experiences taught me humility, patience, perseverance, and the importance of treating people with respect. They also showed me that effective leadership is not about seeking recognition but about bringing people together, building trust, and working toward common goals.

The ability to listen, understand different perspectives, and build consensus remains the foundation of how I lead today. I believe the strongest leaders are those who serve others, lead by example, and never lose sight of the people they represent.

I am running for office to strengthen local leadership, support responsible growth, and ensure our county government is transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on the needs of working families, organized schools, and small businesses.

My vision is to promote smart, sustainable growth while preserving the values and quality of life that make our community a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I believe government works best when it listens to its citizens, manages taxpayer dollars wisely, and makes decisions openly and with accountability.

By the end of my first term, I hope to help achieve stable taxes, responsible economic and residential growth, greater stability within our schools, and a stronger sense of trust between residents and county government. Most importantly, I want our citizens to feel confident that their voices are being heard and considered before major community decisions are made.

My educational and professional background has prepared me to serve with both practical experience and strategic vision. I hold a Master of Liberal Studies degree, have completed graduate coursework in Strategic Leadership, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Operations Management and an Associate degree in Business, and obtained a Supply Chain Management Certification. In addition, I am a Licensed Therapeutic Foster Care Parent and hold an ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

These experiences have strengthened my understanding of leadership, organizational effectiveness, fiscal responsibility, problem-solving, and community service. I am committed to bringing those skills to public office and working collaboratively to build a stronger future for our county and its residents.
